Hudson ISD in Lufkin, Texas made a big splash into the artificial turf market at its October school board meeting when it voted
unanimously to install synthetic turf on all three of its athletic fields.
This spring, students in the Hudson Independent School District will be playing on new artificial turf fields at its soccer complex,
baseball stadium, and softball stadium. These new synthetic turf fields will provide a much safer and reliable playing surface for
the student athletes in all weather conditions.
The Hudson ISD administration began exploring the possibility of converting their natural grass fields months before making the
decision to convert them from grass to synthetic turf. In addition to voting to convert the fields to synthetic turf, the Hudson ISD
school board also voted to have Symmetry Turf of Mount Pleasant, Texas to construct the fields and install their Genesis® turf
product on all three fields. Symmetry’s Genesis® line represents the pinnacle of quality, performance and safety that the industry has to offer.
“Hudson ISD is excited and anxious about the field improvements for our athletic complex,” stated Hudson superintendent
Donny Webb. “The current project to turf our soccer, baseball, and softball fields is generating additional pride in these
outstanding programs. Hudson ISD is proud to partner with Symmetry Turf on this project. Symmetry is very well known for
exceptional customer service, product installation, quality materials, and a phenomenal staff. We look forward to another great
